Chukar (Alectoris chukar)
Locally common, this large European partridge prefers open, rocky, barren lands. Sexes are Similar. Note the cream colored face with prominent black border. In flight (strong and direct), the reddish legs are visible. Chukar eat grass shoots, seeds, grain, and insects. The male calls chuck-ar.
